Over the weekend...

Over the weekend I finished up Twist which I have had on hold for a number of months now. All I had left was one sleeve cap, button bands, collar and seaming. So in one afternoon and a viewing of Charlie and the Chocolate factory I had her done. Here she is on Phyllis. Just named her as it came to me as I was typing. Phyllis was my grandmother and she passed away a number of years ago. She was one crazy lady and that was the best thing about her. I remember one summer I got to fly out and spend it with her. It was awesome.... Any way onto the Twist...

I love this sweater and will definitley make it again. Maybe in a blue.... Heathered blue would be nice...

I am still working on the baby vests and have cast on for Forecast in the Highland that I bought a few months ago for a poncho. I found a cheap (9$) wool skirt at Wally World and this will go perfectly with it. I have been working on it pretty much all weekend and divided for the sleeves last night. The wool is kind of scratchy but I hope it will soften up with a bath. Pictures of that later.

The rest of the pictures tonight are what's to be off in mail this week.

And last but not least the sweater for my niece. Now to find hte button that I bought a two-pack of, gave one to a girlfriend for the same sweater and now I can't find it in the drwaer that I put it in...

Guess we'll be making a trip to the fabric store to pick up another and then find it later.

So I guess that's it for now. Off to make dinner, watch Heros and go to bed. Oh yeah and do some laundry and wrap some gifts and and and

Hope you all have a wonderful evening.

And a clean car finds us w/ photos

I found my software needless to say. So now on with the show.

First up... The kitchen. I used to have very pale contractor beige walls in my kitchen. I also have light cabinets, countertops and floors. Can you say blah?

Well here we are now... Red and gold. I love my kitchen. The last project will be black marble countertops but that's a couple of tax returns down the road. I made the curtains myself. Simplicity pattern 4656. They really were easy.

The knitting:

The first is a hat for my Grandfather. It was a couple of inches in last night. It is about an inch form being completed tonight. I found the pattern here so you can see what it will look like. Dsc_0041

The pink and brown for DD

My boss' wife is preganant w/ their second boy. They are due in March so I'm working up a couple of these Sirdar Vests in Patons Grace in taupe. They are really soft and should make for nice spring sweaters.

And last but not least another vest for DD. Buffaloe check in blues.

So I guess that's it for tonight. The cable is being wonky so I'm getting off of the computer. Hope you all have a great evening.

Here we go again

I am going to try and get back into the posting habit here. I have been wanting to but in the true form of the procrastinator that I am I never do more than think about it.

There has been knitting. Lots and lots of knitting.

Hubby fried my hardrive as is his annual tradition. (No he's not allowed to touch my computer anymore). Lots' of pictures are gone and I have to find the disc to reinstall my photo software. I need to convert from RAW to JPEG before you can see any of my current projects.

BUT I am working on hats and sweaters and little itty nitty baby vests and buffaloe checked big girl vests and brown and pink fair isle and some old stuff too. I'm hoping to find the software over the next couple of days and get pictures uploaded for you all to see. I can see them on my camera but you can't.

Also are the valances I sewed for my kitchen. All 38 pieces of them hanging all nice and pattern lined up. The kitchen is red Mom. Just like we thought it would look. Awesome.

Decorations go up in a couple of days and I am looking forward to it this year.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I am very thankful for what I have in my life and for my life itself.

Don't forget the gravy!
