Just been reading lately. Got a new laptop and been playing computer games. Think I found a good cardigan pattern today. Been looking for awhile and haven't been able to settle on one yet. Works been crazy and I need some downtime.
So a quick drive by: been ramping up to start sewing again. purchased patterns, fabric, tissue paper and cotton muslin to "do it right" I've got a skirt pattern that I'm not too sure about the size vs the meaurements. It woudl put me in a much larger size than I've ever worn. Also have the makings for a boucle/chanel style jacket. I will do a muslin for that one as well just to make sure that everything fits right before I start cutting away at the good stuff.
In other news my son is starting to play the piano. He is mostly learning from UTube right now but we will be getting him and his sister proper lessons very soon. That is all for tonight.
So I'm in San Francisco for a conference for work. I brought my knitting and I've been working away on Stillwell by Jared Flood. It's going good so far. In the past when I've gone to conferences it's been a mini me vacation. This time I just want to be home. I miss them all so much. They don't know it. I tell them but they don't get it. I missed a sick kid to comfort. Baseball tryouts. Just the day to day that wears me down. But I miss it. It's not even 8 o'clock. There are lots of vendor parties going on. I've been invited. I'm in my bed watching tv. It's where I want to be. Really I want to be in quiet NC with my husband and my children. I think I'll keep my career progression goals closer to home next time.
I did stop for yarn for the blanket on the way home. Also bought yarn for another sweater while I was there. Have the body to the armpits done and am now working on a sleeve. It's a yoked sweater so no choice but to do the sleeves before I get to the fun part. Hopefully knitpicks order will be here today as well. Startitis is still on the brain for sure!
The bug has hit. Found out today that a good friend of mine is preggers. I've bought three Brooklyn Tweed patterns. Planned out the yarn for two blankets and bought the yarn for a sweater for myself. AND I'll be stopping for blanket yarn on my way home! Can't wait to get started on it all! Still need to finish many other things. I would say first but we know how that will work out. Hoping for a snow day next week so I can knit away!
So it's been awhile. I started a new job. Kids are busy as ever and we are getting ready for a week in Corrola with 4 other families. Life is great right now. Hopefully it will stay that way!
I may actually blog more now that I can do it from my phone!
Saying good bye to 2009 and Hello! to 2010. Can't wait to see what the new year brings. Tonight will be spent with great friends and good times. Now to go get ready for it!
My first day off for the holidays and I've got a lot to do today. Already got gifts wrapped, need to make a trip out for one more gift for the boy and then I'm going to attempt to paint my living room in one afternoon without throwing my back out again. Gotta love old age!
